An Integrated Place

This panel sets out the key landscape and woodland proposals for the area and illustrates how the existing village might be improved and integrated with the new development. In particular, it illustrates how new housing could be integrated into the countryside, while protecting the wildlife and cultural assets in the area, and provides ideas for how the areas around the Church and Main Street could be improved.

A Place to Learn

This panel illustrates the proposals for primary and secondary schools. It explains when the schools will be provided. It also sets out the ideas for new community facilities and the mix of uses we think should be in the town centre, which include proposals for a supermarket. What uses and facilities do you think should be included in the town and neighbourhood centres proposed? Artist’s impression and ideas on how these places and uses might look are presented for you to consider.

A Place to have Fun

This panel describes the landscape, recreation and open space proposals. It includes ideas for a new District Park, including outdoor activities and pitches shared with the secondary schools, on the west of the community. It presents ideas for a new canal basin and town park at the heart of the expanded settlement which would hopefully make Winchburgh a lively, attractive and vibrant town centre. Finally, it identifies the potential for a Nature Park near Faucheldean.
